I get  asked questions like this everyday,  well, where shall we start ?    Grab a chair, lets sit by the fire - let me begin.

   What is Witchcraft ?

Witchcraft means different things to all people and Witches,  luckily I have never met two Witches the same,  so I can't comment on what Witchcraft means to others,  only my thoughts,  and my opinions.

Since the age of 4,  I've been  'different'  shall we say,  always interested in nature,  faeries,  witches,  psychic matters,  healing etc.

Even at school, I was always the one the kids came to if they had a problem,  I was never picked on or bullied for being different,  I was always the one that stuck up for others,  I hated people being upset or hurt.   Its gone on from there really  -  I still help people everyday, I listen,  I talk to people,  I give answers and healing - this to me is a natural form of  'Wise Craft'.   

No,  Witchcraft isn't about turning people into toads,  flying naked on broomsticks and conjuring up potions in a cauldron using bats wings and eye of newt.   It's not about green faced old hags with warts on their noses ( umm, well to be honest, I've met one or two who look like that !) .  Most of the Witches I know both male and female, are beautiful strong people, with amazing presence and love.  We can't twitch our noses and make things happen, we don't click our fingers and sparks fly from our hands.   We just try to make the world a more healing,  loving,  peaceful place to live in.  

To me Witchcraft is a way of life,  a magical form of belief in worshipping Mother Nature, the Goddess, the Sun, Moon and Stars, and it has given me belief in Myself.   Its about helping,  healing and teaching - sharing with others.  

 Yes,  I perform Spells,  using candles, herbs, crystals etc.  No - I don't belong to a Coven,  I know many Witches who do,  but I'm  a Solitary Witch.   I'm not what I would call a 'White Witch' either,  this is a fluffy media term for saying that someone is 'really nice, and never does any nasty stuff'.   Well I class myself as a 'Rainbow Witch'  I can do Magic of all colours, although I don't really believe in Black Magic - and what goes around comes around,  I know a few people that have learnt the hard way.  

Witchcraft can be very  powerful and at the same time,  gentle too. 

Well to be honest,  I hope this hasn't answered your questions about Witchcraft - because I want you to go out there and learn for yourself,  there are so many fantastic books for sale these days, and you don't need to go into dark spooky shops anymore - the book shops in your local high street will have a great many available, or look on  amazon.co.uk .

So buy yourself a book, a few candles a couple of crystals - then with your book,  go for a walk,  choose a lovely green park to sit in,  a wood,  a forest,  a huge field,  an ancient site maybe.   Sit down, close your eyes, hold your face to the Sun,  and breathe.     Breathe in the Sunshine,  breathe in the day - what does the day smell like ?,  imagine a colour to describe it as  !   Then, listen, what can you hear, try to listen for at least 10 different sounds, the wind, the trees rustling their leaves, can you hear cattle, horses ?  Can you hear people, children laughing ?    Now FEEL the day - what can you feel ?   peace,  happiness, sadness, loss,  love,  contentment  ?   Make yourself more aware of Nature everyday,  feel, think and sense.  Once you can learn how to develop this, then you can help yourself and others using your insight and intuition.

Then relax, smile, breathe and read your book, surrounded by Mother Nature, learn from her too.
